Angie Glawe Consultant Highlight

You have a Project Coordinator and Agile Consulting background, tell us about the importance of those in an organization.

Projects are complex by nature. The Project Manager, or Coordinator, plays a key role in pulling the details together and communicating those details. This includes tracking project milestones and due dates, providing support to make sure all project objectives are executed on time, and risks are clearly communicated and mitigated.

Project Managers monitor and report on key metrics and communicate these proactively with leadership and stakeholders to prevent small issues and delays from becoming large ones. Having a Project Manager becomes more critical when a company is engaged with a system implementation partner and increases exponentially when the project scope expands to include additional integration partners.

Agile Scrum provides a framework for teams to develop regular, cadenced, and incremental delivery of tasks and products, with full visibility for stakeholders. What I love about Scrum is that the principles can be scaled and implemented to fit the needs of the company. For example, Scrum can be used on either a project-by-project basis, or to manage specific activities within the project (such as user acceptance testing). It’s been my experience that applying even basic Agile Scrum methods can dramatically improve team communication and the pace of project or product deliverables, as well as increasing stakeholder buy-in.

What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?

I like popcorn with Greek seasoning sprinkled on top. None of my friends or family get that one. I also enjoy a sandwich made of fresh bread, cheese, pickles, and mayo. Again, family and friends are thumbs down.

Would you rather go 30 days without your phone or your entire life without dessert?

That’s a hard one, since I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. But if we’re talking about 30 days vs a whole lifetime, I’d probably opt for giving up my phone.
